Social Psychology This interdisciplinary field draws on both sociology and psychology. It looks at the relationship between individuals and groups. Psychologists examine how behavior is affected by groups and institutions. Sociologists focus on small-group behavior and the ways that groups and institutions affect individuals.
Social and Behavioral Sciences
The way the physical world works is central to the natural sciences. By contrast, the social sciences center on the way the human world works. The social sciences look at individuals and society—human behavior and the interactions people have with each other and with the institutions we’ve set up to organize our lives.
